REPORT| A MISERABLE DAY FOR THE BANTAMS AT BLACKPOOL

7 April 2018

Match Report:

Blackpool 5 (Delfouneso 16, 29, 70, Solomon-Otabor 22, Longstaff 80)

Bradford City 0

Saturday 7th April 2018 | Sky Bet League One | Bloomfield Road

It was an afternoon to forget for the Bantams at Bloomfield Road as Simon Grayson's Bantams suffered their heaviest defeat of the season. City trailed by three goals by the break with Nathan Delfouneso scoring twice and Viv Solomon-Otabor notching an excellent goal. Delfouneso completed his hat-trick in the second half before Sean Longstaff added a fifth to his team's tally.

City started the game with the correct intentions and application but Delfouneso turned in a Colin Daniel cross from close range seemed to sap the Bantams of their confidence.

A superb solo goal from Viv Solomon-Otabor doubled Blackpool's lead after the winger had done well to get the better of Romain Vincelot before finishing past Colin Doyle.

Matters were made worse before the break when Delfouneso combined with Daniel again to score his second before the break and Blackpool's third.

The Bantams improved after the break and looked a threat through substitutes Tyrell Robinson and Kai Bruenker but Delfouneso completed his hat-trick heading accurately into the corner past Doyle after connecting with Jimmy Ryan's cross.

The afternoon was conemned to be one that had to be quickly forgotten when Sean Longstaff helped himself to a close range tap-in after Colin Doyle spilled the ball under pressure from Mark Cullen.
