A youthful City Development Squad suffered a heavy defeat at the hands at Port Vale in the Central League this Tuesday afternoon.
Four first-half goals from Vale striker Anton Forrester helped the hosts on their way to a 4-0 victory over the Bantams at Vale Park.
Young professional Callum Gunner was given the full game, while Curtis Peters and Reece Webb-Foster played just under an hour.
Forrester opened the scoring for the Valiants just eight minutes in via a well-taken strike into the top corner from 20 yards.
The Vale striker netted again soon after when he drilled a low finish beyond City 'keeper Alfie Drake via a deflection.
Forrester completed his hat-trick after eighteen minutes. Marcus Harness sent in a cross from the right flank and Forrester found the net with a close range header.
The 24 year-old then claimed his fourth of the game seven minutes before half-time thanks to a curling finish into the far corner.
