David Hopkin believes his Bantams have laid an “ideal platform" ahead of tomorrow’s New Year’s Day game against Accrington Stanley.
City returned from Rochdale’s Crown Oil Arena as emphatic 4-0 winners, sealing a third win in five Sky Bet League One outings.
The result saw Hopkin’s men rise to 21st on the league ladder and victory tomorrow afternoon could take the Bantams as high as 19th (kick-off 3.00pm).
“It was a big result for us at Rochdale at it was one we had to get, in order to keep climbing the table,” said Hopkin.
“It was about as good as we have been this season, certainly since I came to the club, and we can all take some pride in how far the team has come.
“The energy levels are extremely high and there is a great deal of belief and desire on show.
“We were delighted to score four goals and come away with another clean sheet.”
City have scored 10 goals in their last three games, conceding only one.
Tenth-placed Accrington, who were 3-1 victors when the two sides last met, in October, arrive at the Northern Commercials Stadium on the back of a 4-0 home defeat to Peterborough.
Manager Hopkin is hoping to recall Luca Colville (knee) and Hope Akpan (dead leg) for the January 1 contest, which he insists the Bantams are relishing.
“It should be another great occasion - on home soil,” added the City boss.
“It is a game we are really looking forward to and we are going up against a very good team.
“Accrington got the better of us a couple of months ago, so it will be interesting to measure our progress.
“Hope and Luca are pretty close and should be ok to come back into the mix. Injury wise, we are in a good place. The squad is all but fully fit and we have plenty of options.
“This is another important fixture for us and one we have to approach in the right way.
“The players have been looked after over the festive period and, hopefully, we will be able to do enough to get another positive result."
