BLACK LEAVES THE BANTAMS

16 February 2018

Bradford City can confirm that Kenny Black has decided to leave the football club with immediate effect.

Black departs after nearly twenty months at the Northern Commercials Stadium following his arrival at the club back in June 2016.

The vast majority of Black's time at Valley Parade was spent as assistant manager to former Bantams boss Stuart McCall.

Black said: "This is my personal decision to leave.

"There was certainly no pressure at all from the club itself, or from Simon (Grayson) and Glynn (Snodin) to leave.

"They were more than happy to keep all the current staff in place.

"I came in (to Bradford City) with Stuart (McCall) and this decision is really to do with my loyalty to him.

"I was more than happy to stay on for these past two games (against Bury and Charlton) to help oversee the transition, but now I feel it is the right time to move on.

"I leave with some tremendous memories of the club and the people connected with it.

"Apart from the play-off final last season and the run of form we endured this January, everything else was extremely positive.

"I've thoroughly enjoyed working with the set of players we've had during my time at the club.

"Hopefully the current group of players here can still make it a successful end to the season for the club."

The club would like to thank Kenny for all of his efforts during his time with Bradford City and wish him all the very best for the future.
