GILLIEAD | THIS IS THE RIGHT PLACE FOR ME

8 January 2018

Bantams winger Alex Gilliead feels sticking with City is the best thing for his career at the moment.

Gilliead penned a new loan deal last week which ensured that the twenty-one year-old will remain at the Northern Commercials Stadium until the end of the current campaign.

Gilliead, who made his thirtieth appearance of the season in Saturday's Emirates FA Cup tie at Yeovil Town, is coming up to a year at City in total after also enjoying a loan spell with the Bantams last year as well.

After a string of eye-catching performances on City's right flank in recent months, Gilliead has emerged as a consistent name on Bantams boss Stuart McCall's team-sheet.

The Newcastle United attacker believes he is feeling the benefits of regular first team football with City, and he is looking forward to kicking on in the second half of the campaign.

Gilliead said: "I feel that being here is the best place for me to be at the moment.

"I am enjoying playing my football, plus working with the gaffer and the lads.

"The fans have also taken to me really well.

"Playing virtually ninety minutes every week is massive for someone like me at my age.

"It is great experience for me.

"I know I still need to improve on a few things, but I'm confident can do that over the course of the next four or five months that I will be here.

"I want to add more goals and assists in my game. I feel that can come about with the more matches I play here and the more minutes I get.

"Last season I suffered a little bit with injury when I came here, but this season I'm in the team and I feel like I've played a good part so far."
