Emirates FA Cup Third Round
Yeovil Town 2 (Barnes 62, Green 76)
Bradford City 0
Kick Off: 3:00pm
at Huish Park

Attendance: 3,040 (465 visitors)

The Bantams were knocked out of the Emirates FA Cup at the third round stage after they found themselves on the wrong end of a cup upset by Sky Bet League Two team Yeovil Town.

Second half goals from Yeovil attackers Marcus Barnes and Jordan Green saw the Glovers claim victory following an energetic display from the hosts.

Sadly for the Bantams, Stuart McCall's men had little joy on a difficult afternoon at Huish Park.

Yeovil went close on more than one occasion during a lively first half performance from the Somerset-based side.

With one particular chance, Barnes forced a good save out of Lukas Raeder - the shot-stopper stepping into the side after Rouven Sattelmaier injured his back on Friday.

Raeder was one of four changes made by City for the game, with Nathaniel Knight-Percival, Tony McMahon and Luke Hendrie also ruled out.

Along with Barnes, Tom James and former Bantams loanee Francois Zoko had efforts stopped by Raeder as well, with Yeovil defender James also seeing a powerful shot blocked on the line by Matthew Kilgallon.

Kilgallon was unfortunately forced off at the bench after taking a whack on the shin.

The Bantams improved after the interval - Timothee Dieng forcing a smart save out of Artur Krysiak early into the half - but Yeovil still fired themselves in front just past the hour mark.

After Otis Khan had already gone close with a free-kick ten minutes earlier, Yeovil caught City on the counter-attack when same home winger played Barnes in on goal.

The striker, making his Yeovil debut after joining on loan from Southampton on Friday, took advantage of the time and space to slot home past Raeder.

Paul Taylor went agonisingly close to equalising later in the half when his dipping drive from outside the box hit the underside of Krysiak's crossbar.

Shay McCartan looked to cash in on the rebound but his close range strike was repelled by the Yeovil 'keeper.

Yeovil managed to double their advantage fifteen minutes from the end when a forceful run from Zoko eventually saw the ball land at the feet of Jordan Green, who finished neatly from just inside the box.

Again, City came close to responding but Charlie Wyke was blocked out after Taylor had found him in space in the box with a clipped ball over the top.

Second half substitute Daniel Devine saw a goal-bound effort on the half volley blocked on the line by James in the final minute of normal time, as City failed to deny Yeovil a deserved success.

Bird bursts into the box with purpose but his low driven strike across the six yard box is held by Raeder.
Alex Gilliead's bouncing low cross is missed by Paul Taylor before the ball hits off Charlie Wyke behind him and flies over.
As City struggle to clear their lines from the corner that follows, James rifles the ball goalwards from the edge of the box and Kilgallon has to be in the right place to block the effort with his body from right in front of his own goal-line.
Barnes is played into space inside the City area by Zoko and his angled drive is tipped around the post by Raeder.
From the resulting corner delivery from Khan, James connects with a firm header but the effort is straight at Raeder.
