Michael Collins has hailed the support of the Bradford City faithful following yesterday's well-attended Open Day.

More than 500 supporters turned out to meet with players and coaching staff ahead of the new season’s big kick-off, at the Northern Commercials Stadium.

And Bantams head coach Collins is calling for more of the same when City travel to face Shrewsbury Town in their Sky Bet League One opener this Saturday.

Collins, who is sponsored by the Midland Hotel, said: “The support on Sunday was absolutely fantastic, with so many people braving the bad weather to come out and get behind us.

“The players very much enjoyed spending time with everyone who turned out and it proved a popular event amongst our fans.

“We are really looking forward to the season getting underway, it is exciting for everyone involved.

“A great deal of hard work has gone on behind the scenes and we want to start the season well, with an exciting squad and a number of new signings.

“Our supporters can play a huge part for us on Saturday and I know ticket sales are already going well, which is great to hear.

“It would be brilliant for us to travel to Shrewsbury with a large following of fans, cheering us on in what should be a great battle.”

Tickets for Saturday’s season opener are still available and can be purchased by CLICKING HERE, or visiting the Northern Commercials Stadium during normal office hours.

PLEASE NOTE: Tickets ordered from Tuesday onwards must be collected from the Northern Commercials Stadium (before 5.00pm on Thursday).

After this time, supporters can collect from the Shrewsbury Town ticket office on the day of the game.

Season-ticket collection continues, in The Hub, from 9.30am until 4.30pm. On Saturday, the facility will be open from 9.00am until 12.00pm.
