Doyle Features For Ireland In France Friendly

28 May 2018

Bantams goalkeeper Colin Doyle collected his third full cap for the Republic of Ireland this Monday evening in a friendly fixture with France.

After starting for an Ireland XI in Celtic midfielder Scott Brown's testimonial last Sunday, Doyle kept his place in goal for Ireland's international encounter with the World Cup-bound French side.

France - one of the sides tipped for success in this summer's tournament in Russia - ended up 2-0 winners in the contest at the Stade de France in Paris.

Following their match with France, Ireland are next due to face the United States on Saturday 2 June before the summer break.

Doyle is one of three Bantams who could be involved in international duty in the coming days and weeks.

Shay McCartan has been included in the Northern Ireland squad ahead of two friendly fixtures with Panama on Tuesday (29 May) and Costa Rica on Sunday 3 June.

Adam Chicksen has been named in Zimbabwe's provisional squad for their defence of the COSAFA Cup.

The tournament for Southern African nations, which Zimbabwe won last year, will begin in Botswana early next month.
