Doyle Named In Ireland Squad

24 May 2018

Bantams goalkeeper Colin Doyle has kept his place in the Republic of Ireland squad for their forthcoming friendlies with France and the USA.

Doyle was originally named in a 40-man provisional Irish squad earlier this month, with the shot-stopper featuring for an Ireland XI on Sunday in Celtic midfielder Scott Brown's testimonial.

The squad has now been trimmed down to 26. Doyle is one of three goalkeepers to be included in the group.

Ireland are due to face France on Monday (28 May) and then the United States on Saturday 2 June.

With Darren Randolph and Keiren Westwood both ruled out through injury, Doyle is the most senior of the three 'keepers named in the squad by Ireland boss Martin O'Neill.

Doyle is also one of three Bantams due for international duty in the coming weeks.

Shay McCartan has been included in the Northern Ireland squad ahead of two friendly fixtures with Panama on Tuesday (29 May) and Costa Rica on Sunday 3 June.

Adam Chicksen has been named in Zimbabwe's provisional squad for their defence of the COSAFA Cup.

The tournament for Southern African nations, which Zimbabwe won last year, will begin in Botswana early next month.
