City new-boy Paul Caddis has spoken of the importance of the supporters’ involvement in driving the team forward.
The Bantams host Aldershot tomorrow night, before welcoming Oxford to the Northern Commercials Stadium in a crunch Sky Bet League One clash - on Saturday.
After completing a deal to join the Bantams until the end of the season, on Friday, Caddis debuted in City’s 1-1 draw at high-flying Peterborough.
The Scottish defender offered an immediate impact in helping David Hopkin’s side end a run of a disappointing results.
And although he will play no part in tomorrow’s Emirates FA Cup first-round replay, as he wasn’t a City player when the original fixture took place, Caddis believes the supporters have a “huge impact” over the coming days.
The former Blackburn man said: “I enjoyed being back out there and it was great to play in front of so many City supporters.
“We showed a lot of character, especially when conceding possession. They threatened us with a lot of crosses but I don’t think they bothered us too much.
“We were resilient. We headed away everything that came into the box and we could have nicked it if we had done a little bit more quality in the final third.”
Almost 750 fans made the trip from West Yorkshire to the ABAX Stadium and Caddis was pleased City were able to take something from what proved a closely-contested encounter.
He added: “It is difficult for me to go on what has happened before, I can only go on my time here.
“At big clubs like this, the fans demand hard work. If you work hard then they will get behind you and if we can do that at home it will be like having an extra man.
“If the gaffer puts me in against Oxford then I will be delighted to play in front of what promises to be a big crowd. I played there at the beginning of last season, with Blackburn, and it is a fantastic place to do your stuff.
“The fans are great. They come in big numbers and, in our division, this is a massive club. As players we have to cope with that pressure, get them behind us and start looking upwards.”
Supporters have until 5.00pm on Friday to purchase tickets for just £1 for the Sky Bet League One visit of Oxford United.
