Kelvin Mellor has been ruled out for at least four weeks.
The City defender suffered a broken bone in his foot during Saturday’s game against Rochdale.
Mellor was stretchered from the field and scans have confirmed a short spell on the sidelines for the former Blackpool player.
Alex Jones sustained a minor hamstring injury on Tuesday evening - when City played host to Coventry in Sky Bet League One action.
Striker Jones is set to undergo further tests next week, which will reveal the full extent of his injury.
Meanwhile, Adam Chicksen (leg), Danny Devine (foot), Luca Colville (knee), Jim O’Brien (hamstring) and Tom Clare (hamstring) will return to full training in the coming weeks.
