David Hopkin is calling for the Bantams to build momentum ahead of this evening’s Checkatrade Trophy opener against Everton Under-21s (7.30pm).

Tonight’s fixture marks the first of six City fixtures in 18 days and head coach Hopkin is hoping to see his side kick-start their season.

“We want to go out there tonight and give a good account of ourselves,” said the Bantams boss.

“We will put a team out there which can compete with what will be a strong Everton side, packed full of quality young players.

“The likes of George Miller, Thomas Isherwood and Jordan Gibson will all get their chance in the starting 11.

“We want to win every game we play and will be going out there looking to progress and continue our improvement tonight.

“Getting the win would be great for us. We need to build some momentum and get the results coming in.

“We have prepared well for it. Training changes a little bit for us now, given the fact we have so many games in the space of 18 days, so we have to get the balance right.”

All admission is to be gained at the turnstiles, with tickets priced at £10 (adults), £5 (concessions) and £1 (juniors).

Gates open at 6.30pm this evening and matchday magazines will not be available for purchase.
