AWAY DAY GUIDE: GRIMSBY v CITY

The Bantams travel to Grimsby this afternoon for their first away fixture of the 2019/20 campaign and we have compiled a handy Away Day Guide - packed full of useful information ahead of the 1.00pm contest!

ABOUT THE GROUND

Blundell Park has been home to the Mariners since opening was back in 1899.

The ground is an all seater venue, with a capacity of 9,052.

The stadium has undergone four different renovations - in 1925, 1939, 1961, 1982 - with it now housing the Main Stand, Young’s Stand, Pontoon’s Stand and Osmond Stand.

TICKETS

City supporters are reminded tickets for the Blundell Park affair are completely SOLD OUT, with no pay-on-the-gate option available.

The Bantams are expected to take over 1,800 travelling fans to the east coast, who will be housed in the Osmond Stand.

CAR PARKING

No car parking is available at Blundell Park, but there is a wide range of street parking available in the ground’s vicinity.

Side roads off the A180 (Grimsby Road) near the stadium offer plenty of space, though charges may incur.

ENTERTAINMENT AND REFRESHMENTS

Food and drink inside the Blundell Park away end is sold inside Scottie’s Bar, which also has Sky Sports television. There is a selection of alcoholic drinks, pies, burgers and hot dogs on sale.

Across the road from the venue is the Blundell Park Hotel, which welcomes both home and away supporters.

This pub sells popular craft beers and ciders and food at reasonable prices.

GETTING THERE

By car: At the end of the M180 continue along the A180 towards Grimsby.

After around 14 miles you will near Grimsby town centre. Continue along the A180 following signs for Cleethorpes.

On reaching a McDonald’s sign on your left and the Blundell Park Hotel on your right, turn left into Imperial Avenue for the club entrance.

By Train: The nearest train station to the ground is Cleethorpes, which is around a 20-minute walk away.

Upon exiting the station, turn right and head down the High Street, following signs for Blundell Park which will be on your right-hand side.

By Bus: Stagecoach operate services which run directly opposite Blundell Park.

Supporters should look out for the number 9, 13 and 46 routes on matchdays.

WEATHER

Weather warnings have been issued in Cleethorpes for high winds and heavy rain, expected today.

Temperatures could still hit mild levels of 21°C, with sunny spells possible.
