BOWYER EXPECTING 'DIFFERENT' TEST

Gary Bowyer expects Forest Green Rovers to present a "different" challenge – but one his Bantams are well equipped to contend with.

The Gloucestershire-based club will travel to the Utilita Energy Stadium for the first time in their history tomorrow (3.00pm).

And Bowyer believes Mark Cooper’s men will be well motivated for the contest.

The City chief said: "Forest Green are a great example of a well-run club. Mark Cooper has been there for three years now and they produce fabulous footballers.

"They play the game in a brave manner, with the way he encourages them.

"It has been good to watch in the videos. I like the way they go about it and they present us with a challenge again, as all the teams will.

"It will be a bit different to what we have encountered so far, though we are really looking forward to it.

"Teams will relish coming to Valley Parade and we have to be prepared for that.

"So far - in the two home games we have had - the players have stood up to be counted.

"We need to pick up from where we left off on Tuesday evening."

Shay McCartan returned from injury against Oldham last Saturday but sat out Tuesday’s trip to Stevenage.

Bowyer expects the Irishman to gradually gain his fitness and he will be in contention for tomorrow’s game, with a host of others nearing their City comebacks.

"Adam Henley is still a bit sore, so we will give him as long as we possibly can," said Bowyer.

"We welcomed Jordan Gibson back to training on Tuesday and he goes straight back into the squad.

"Zeli Ismail is getting very close now, which is another bonus, and we will make a call on Shay McCartan. We want to build him back into it gradually.

“Throughout the course of the campaign, you are going to have these injuries.

"It was a major disappointment for us to lose Joe Riley for the remainder of the season.

"He came in last week after the operation and is really positive. The lads have rallied around him to make sure his spirits stay very high."

Tickets for tomorrow’s clash are still available and can be purchased from the ticket office at the Utilita Energy Stadium, or by CLICKING HERE.
