Adam Henley is full of excitement at the prospect of walking out in front of a sold-out away end on Saturday, as the Bantams take on Grimsby Town in Sky Bet League Two.

Over 1,800 tickets have been snapped up by City supporters ahead of the 1.00pm clash, with a bumper crowd expected at Blundell Park.

Henley has stressed how much of a positive impact the Bantams' loyal backing can have on the team this season.

He said: "The supporters are massively important to us. Having the kind of support behind you like we have here gives the team a big boost.

"There will be a lot of times over the course of this season where we will need their help to get us out of tough situations, particularly away from home.

"Feeling this support week in, week out is great for our confidence. Any footballer will tell you the same.

"The supporters will be hugely important this season and we cannot wait to see nearly 2,000 of them at Grimsby on Saturday."

Full-back Henley was delighted to make his first City appearance in Saturday’s season opener at home to Cambridge, earning his club heritage number in the process.

The former Blackburn Rovers man took #1277 over the weekend - alongside another five debutants - and promises to shoulder the responsibility this carries.

Henley added: "I am delighted to have earned my heritage number and achieved that milestone here.

"It adds a big responsibility, now being a part of the club’s rich history.

"I am determined to perform well and always give 100 per-cent, which is what everyone is going to have to do in this team in order to get us back out of the division.

"Everyone knows what is required and what we need to do to achieve great things here."

Supporters are reminded that Saturday's game is SOLD OUT for away supporters and there is no option to pay on the gate.
