OPPOSITION GUIDE: OLDHAM ATHLETIC

City return to Sky Bet League Two action tomorrow, with Oldham Athletic visiting the Utilita Energy Stadium.

Laurent Banide’s men have actively strengthened throughout the summer - and Saturday's action will get underway from 3.00pm.

The Latics currently sit 22nd in Sky Bet League One, having lost their opening two matches of the season.

And we have compiled an Opposition Guide, packed full of detailed information on tomorrow’s visitors...

SUMMER TRANSFER ACTIVITY

The Boundary Park outfit have been busy throughout the summer, reshuffling their playing staff with 15 new signings and 12 departures.

Ins: Scott Wilson (Macclesfield), Florain Gonzales (Auxerre B), Callum Dolan (Altrincham), Gary Woods (Hamilton Academical), David Wheater (Bolton), Alex Iacovitti (Nottingham Forest), Marvin Kokos (Ajaccio), Dylan Fage (Auxerre B), Desire Segbe Azankpo (FK Senica), Kielen Adams (Bradford City), Ashley Smith-Brown (Plymouth, loan), Zak Mills (Morecambe), Chris Eagles (free agent), Gregor Zabret (Swansea, loan), Tomas Egert (free agent).

ONES TO WATCH

Gary Woods:

An experienced goalkeeper, Woods joined the Latics this summer, signing on a two-year deal from Hamilton Academical.

The 28-year-old has also represented Doncaster Rovers, Leyton Orient and Ross County.

Tom Hamer:

A defender, Hamer first broke into the first team at Oldham aged 18 in January 2018.

A product of the Latics’ academy, the 19-year-old has made 48 first team appearances, scoring three goals.

Gevaro Nepomuceno:

Nepomuceno signed for Oldham in September 2017 and has since made 82 appearances, scoring eight goals.

The winger is a Curaçao international, having earned 36 caps for his country.

Scott Wilson:

Wilson has began his first season with Oldham, having signed for the Greater Manchester club in July.

The striker has enjoyed success at non-league level and scored 11 goals in 42 appearances for Macclesfield Town, last season.

THE MANAGER

Laurent Banide was appointed as Oldham manager on a one-year deal in June.

The Frenchman carries a wealth of managing experience, having worked his way up the coaching ranks at AS Monaco between 1990 and 2007.

Prior to joining Oldham, the 51-year-old served spells as the manager of several sides in the middle east.

THE CAPTAIN

Mohamed Maouche has captained the Latics in each of their opening three games, this season.

The French midfielder signed for Oldham in September 2017, penning a one-year contract extension in July 2019.

The 26-year-old has made 48 appearances for the Greater Manchester side, with Tours and Lausanne-Sport among his former clubs.

LAST TIME OUT

In their previous fixture - on Tuesday - Oldham were eliminated from the Carabao Cup following a thrilling late defeat at Blackburn Rovers.
