Gary Bowyer has been impressed by an increased standard in training, ahead of tomorrow's trip to Leyton Orient.

Bowyer has been able to welcome back the likes of Hope Akpan, Harry Pritchard and Ben Richards-Everton - this week.

And the Bantams boss suggested the return of players from injury has pushed other members of the squad into performing better, in order to keep their places.

Bowyer said: "A lot of the players are getting back fit, now, and the standards in training have skyrocketed, over the past week.

"It is a blessing because everyone wants to play and is working as hard as they can to push themselves into that team.

"While we will need everyone over this Christmas period, the standards have got lot a lot better because all the lads want to be starting.

"Everyone is working hard to get on the pitch and I am delighted with how we have gone about our business, this week.

"We will have to dig in and battle a lot, over this Christmas period, but are happy at being able to stand up and fight."

The City chief will be hoping to record back-to-back wins in East London after a 1-0 victory against Newport County - last weekend - but is wary of the challenge Orient will pose.

The O’s secured a point, last time out, against Oldham Athletic and Bowyer believes tomorrow's hosts are gathering more and more stability.

He added: "We have done our research on Leyton Orient and we know what to expect.

"They have had a terrible time, in terms of management, but have dealt with their circumstances admirably.

"With Ross Embleton now in charge again, I would imagine they will be looking to gain more stability, going forward.

"Having been through a similar situation at Blackburn, they will just want to get sorted and settled, now, and I am sure they will be looking to do that."

Close to 1,000 Bantams supporters are set to make the trip south, with tickets now OFF SALE and NO PAY ON THE GATE option available.
