Matt Palmer was delighted to have made his return from injury, following yesterday's 0-0 draw at Leyton Orient.

The midfielder had not appeared for Gary Bowyer's men in almost three months, having been withdrawn in City's 1-1 draw at Scunthorpe United in September.

Palmer is pleased with the way his rehabilitation programme went and is looking forward to regaining his place in Bowyer's side.

He said: "On a personal note, it was a massive positive for me to get back out there, against Leyton Orient.

"It felt great to be back on the pitch making my return in front of a packed away end.

"The past 10 or 11 weeks have been hard work. There have been a lot of hours in the gym and a lot of work on the training pitch.

"I feel I have done well to get back fit as soon as I have and am looking forward to kicking on, now.

"Hopefully, now my injury is in the past, I can win my place in the team back and help push forward."

Despite making his return, Palmer admitted his frustration, having not left the Breyer Group Stadium with three points.

The Bantams were held at bay by their East London hosts and the Rotherham United loanee spoke of his disappointment at not being able to take more from the game.

The 24-year-old added: "There is a feeling of frustration, overall. We obviously came here for three points and wanted to win the game.

"We felt it was a great opportunity for us to kick on and carry on building momentum so were disappointed to not be able to do that.

"Our away supporters travelled in numbers and backed us brilliantly, as they always do. It is a massive shame we could not get a result for them.

"Personally, I would have liked to mark my return to the side with a victory, but am really happy to be back, at the end of the day.

"We have to put our focus into looking at where we went wrong, and hopefully putting that right, next weekend."
