PRITCHARD BEMOANS ‘TWO DROPPED POINTS’

Goal-scorer Harry Pritchard expressed his frustration in having “dropped two points” - following yesterday’s 1-1 draw against Salford City.

The Bantams dominated proceedings in their first-ever meeting with the Ammies, though were unable to overcome the Lancashire outfit.

Pritchard praised the performance of the side though admitted this only added to the disappointment of not taking all three points.

He said: “We had 26 shots on goal and a huge share of the possession, so it definitely feels like we dropped two points.

“It was a great performance from the team - one of our better ones this season - so the disappointment naturally comes from not being able to get the win.

“We could have done a lot better to see the game out, in the end, and even have gone in at half-time two or three goals up.

“The positive comes from the fact we are still creating a lot of chances. We just need to make sure we are taking them, going forward.

“We have a good opportunity to put it behind us and kick on - on Boxing Day.”

Returning to Gary Bowyer’s starting 11 after featuring from the substitutes bench in last week’s trip to Leyton Orient, Pritchard was voted City’s social media man of the match against Salford.

The midfielder was pleased with his personal performance and is looking to follow this up with more minutes over the festive period.

“Performance-wise, I felt I played well. Of course, I was happy to have scored a goal,” the 27-year-old added.

“It is always nice to be back in the side because we have a great squad with a lot of competition.

“You have to earn the right to regain your place in the team and then obviously work hard to keep it, while you are there.

“Hopefully, I can keep my place and get a lot of minutes - over this Christmas period and beyond.”
