CLARKE RELISHING 'HOME' RETURN

Billy Clarke is relishing the prospect of a return to action on City soil tomorrow when the Bantams play host to Fleetwood Town.

After re-joining the club from Charlton on deadline day, Clarke could be set for his first piece of Northern Commercials Stadium action in two years.

The forward, who has now made 123 appearances for City, insists all eyes are on the visit of Joey Barton’s men.

Clarke said: “It was a difficult task at Wycombe but we performed very well and deserved to leave with all three points.

“It is a great feeling to be back in a City shirt and I have been smiling ever since.

“Wycombe were a strong, physical side and we had a difficult task to take something from the game.

Fleetwood currently sit 10th in Sky Bet League One and a victory could see David Hopkin’s side cut the gap on their opponents to just seven points.

Clarke is confident the Bantams can claim a potentially vital win, insisting the home support could play a key role.

He added: “We have a number of very big games coming up, starting with two important home matches.

“Fleetwood will provide tough opposition but we know what we have to do to get the victory and will do our upmost to achieve it.

“I know we have enough quality in our side to cause them some problems and we will try to implement our plans.

“Every game is important to us now. It isn’t a case of prioritising one game over another.

“If we approach each game with the mentality to win then we will be fine and achieve what we need to this season.

“We relish the pressure and have to get ourselves out of this situation.

“You can’t look too far ahead, though. Our focus is solely on Fleetwood and what the game will bring.

“The fans helped us achieve victory in the past. It was the same when I was here the first time and I saw against Shrewsbury it is the same now.

“Clichés aside, they are the 12th man and really spur us on.”
