HOPKIN EXPECTING 'TOUGH' FLEETWOOD TEST

City manager David Hopkin is expecting a tough test when his Bantams take on Fleetwood Town tomorrow afternoon.

The Bantams are 10 points behind their 10th-placed Sky Bet League One opponents, though victory at the Northern Commercials Stadium could see Hopkin’s men up to 17th.

City have taken five points from their last three fixtures while this weekend’s visitors have won two of their last five games.

Hopkin said: “Joey Barton has done a great job in his first year in management and Fleetwood have some great players.

“They play with plenty of pace and are a physical side. It is a game where we will need to play really well to get a result.

“Fleetwood are in the top half of the table and have gone well so far this season. It is a big game but one we are all looking forward to.

“We had a great run in December and after a little transition, in January, we have got back on track in terms of results.

“We have managed to pull another five or six teams into the mix, which is important, and we now have to kick on and keep the momentum flowing.

“In recent weeks we have had letters back from assessors saying we should have had penalties at Burton and Wycombe.

“So, from having a very good five points, we could have had a magnificent nine points and it would have put us in a much better position.

“We are doing the right things and need to keep believing and working hard. Hopefully, we will get a little more luck along the way!”
