David Hopkin says his Bantams are in for a “strong test” on Saturday - when City face Barnsley.

Hopkin's men travel to Oakwell tomorrow, where they will take on Sky Bet League One’s fifth-placed club.

City remain the division’s form team and the Bantams manager is looking forward to his side’s latest test.

“We will have a big following behind us at Barnsley and it is a game we are ready for,” said Hopkin.

“They are a well-drilled, young team and we will need to be at our best.

“They have a fantastic squad of players, as we have already seen this season in two games we have played against them.

“They are playing good football and have performed at a high standard against teams around them.

“I expect Barnsley to be pushing for automatic promotion. We will be up against it on Saturday.

“It will be difficult but if we are organised and tough to play against then we have every chance of getting a result to be pleased with.”

City will be without an injured trio of Luca Colville (knee), Kelvin Mellor (knee) and Sean Scannell (back) for the January 12 contest (kick-off 3.00pm).

But new recruit Paudie O’Connor, who on Tuesday joined the club on loan from Leeds United, will travel with the squad to South Yorkshire.

Hopkin said: “In terms of injury news, we are getting there. Luca and Kelvin are close - and Sean isn't far behind.

“Jake Reeves was coming towards the end of his rehabilitation - and has been back training - but he came in on Thursday complaining of a sore calf.

“Paudie is available. He is a full-blooded character, who will bring steeliness and determination, and I look forward to working with him.

"The lads have had a good rest, which was needed after such a hectic Christmas schedule, and are raring to go.

“We have had some good results, picked up plenty of clean sheets and scored a lot of goals.

“It is important we kick on now and keep climbing the table.”

More than 3,400 tickets have been sold ahead of tomorrow’s Yorkshire derby.

And supporters will be able to pay on the gate, with admission prices detailed HERE.
