David Hopkin is calling for his Bantams to be “hard to beat” ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Burton Albion.

The hosting Brewers sit 13th in Sky Bet League One and will contest their third game in seven days following a Carabao Cup semi-final defeat to Manchester City.

Bradford ran out 1-0 victors in the reverse fixture earlier this season and Hopkin hopes his side will show “belief” in order to repeat the result again tomorrow.

Bantams manager Hopkin said: “Burton played very well against Manchester City, especially considering the result of the first game.

“They have fantastic players and are performing well in the league, which is why they are placed high in the table.

“They rested a few players in that game, so will be fresh and up for the game against us.

“We have to make sure we go there and show belief to get something from the game.

“In every match now, we have to be organised and hard to break down. That part of our game hasn’t been there in the last two games but we have shown we can do it before.

“We need to get back to what we saw throughout December - being hard to beat and scoring goals.

“The players believe in what we are trying to achieve and the confidence is there that we can begin to climb up the table again.”

Calum Woods became the Bantams’ third signing of the January transfer window in midweek, following the arrivals of Paudie O’Connor and Jermaine Anderson.

The 31-year-old can play both left-back and right-back, giving Hopkin more defensive options to consider.

“We are looking to bring in players who can play in various positions, which he offers,” added Hopkin.

“He is an experienced pro, who has been playing games with Preston’s under-23s to keep his fitness up.

“He has looked good in training preparing for this game and we are looking forward to seeing what he can bring to the side.

“It is important that we get players who can improve the squad, which is what we will continue to do.”
