AWAY DAY GUIDE: PARK AVENUE v CITY

23 July 2019

City are preparing for a trip to neighbours Bradford (Park Avenue) in their penultimate pre-season friendly this evening (7.30pm) and we have prepared a helpful ‘Away Day Guide’ to get you in the mood!

STADIUM ADDRESS:

Horsfall Stadium

Cemetery Road

Low Moor

Bradford

BD6 2NG

ABOUT THE GROUND:

The Horsfall Stadium opened in 1931 as a running track, before Park Avenue moved there in 1994.

It is also home to Bradford Airedale Athletics Club - with a large running track around the perimeter of the pitch.

Refurbished in 2007 to comply with FA ground-grading requirements, the Horsfall Stadium houses 3,500 spectators, with 1,800 seats - taken from Lord’s Cricket Ground - in the main stand.

Other facilities include directors' and sponsors' rooms, a meeting room for the players and management, a medical room, kit room and toilets.

TICKETS:

Supporters will be able to pay on the gate for tonight’s Bradford derby.

Admission prices are as follows:

Adults: £10

Concessions: £8

Juniors (under-16s): £1

DARBY RIMMER MND FOUNDATION

With sunshine forecast for tonight’s fixture, Bradford Park Avenue will be putting up outdoor beer and food stalls inside the stadium gates, in aid of the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation.

Kids activities will also be on show, with the opportunity to meet Park Avenue manager and former City ‘History Maker’ Garry Thompson!

Bucket collectors for the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation can be found around the ground, so please make sure to try and donate.

CAR PARKING:

Car parking at the stadium is free but space is limited, so early arrival is advised.

Otherwise street parking is available along Cemetery Road.

ENTERTAINMENT AND REFRESHMENTS:

To eat:

Low Moor Fisheries, Curry Cottage and Amanos Pizza fast food establishments are all located on Huddersfield Road, a short walk from the ground.

To drink:

Next to these eateries, on Huddersfield Road, is the Drop Kick pub, which allows supporters to park their car in the car park for the duration of the match.

Another pub, The British Queen, is situated opposite the Drop Kick, over the road.

Inside the ground:

A clubhouse is situated inside the gates with a selection of craft beers, real ales and spirits on sale.

GETTING THERE:

Directions:

On Rooley Lane, pass the Odsal Stadium on the left-hand side and, at the next roundabout, take the third exit on to Halifax Road/A6036.

After approximately one mile, turn left down Cemetery Road immediately before the Kinderhaven Children’s Nursery. The Horsfall Stadium is 150 yards on the left.

Public transport:

Bus services 681 and 682 both stop at the Halifax Road Cemetery Road stop, a short walk from the Horsfall Stadium.

WEATHER:

One of the hottest nights of the year is in store for supporters, this evening.

The sun will be shining and temperatures will be hitting highs of 27°C.
