ANNIVERSARY DINNER HAILED 'HUGE SUCCESS'

8 November 2019

City's Premier League Anniversary Dinner was labelled a "huge success" by former captain, manager and club legend, Stuart McCall.

The event was held last night (Thursday) in the Utilita Energy Stadium's McCall and Hendrie Suites, with more than 400 guests in attendance.

Sixteen of the Bantams' Premier League heroes - including former manager Paul Jewell - were present on the evening.

Other squad members - including the likes of David Wetherall, Dean Windass, Dean Saunders, Peter Beagrie and Jamie Lawrence - also appeared to celebrate the 20th anniversary of City's promotion to the top flight, in 1999.

The night included a three-course meal, interviews, footage of those famous days in the club's history, an auction and a raffle.

McCall, who served two spells each as a player and a manager of the club, enjoyed a "terrific" evening's entertainment.

He said: "It was great. It is always good to meet up with your old colleagues, have a catch-up and reminisce over some great memories.

"They were fantastic days and great times in all of our careers. It was really nice to all get together and celebrate them.

"In football, we always want to look forward. Having said that, there is nothing better than being able to look back on your proud history, at times.

"It was fantastic to meet lots of supporters for the first time - particularly for me, with the great relationship I have with them.

"The night went down a huge success and was really enjoyable for everyone involved."
