Gary Bowyer sung the praises of his Bantams after they demonstrated "terrific" character to beat Crawley Town 2-1.
City withstood a late fightback from their visitors to record their third-straight victory and move up to second in the Sky Bet League Two table.
Bowyer believes his side are showing positive signs and was delighted with the players’ battling spirit.
He said: "We were terrific, in the first half, and it is a brilliant result.
"We were on the front foot straight away and scored a great goal.
"Then, we had to dig in. We spoke about the importance of our resilience during the pre-match meeting and we were outstanding.
"We should have wrapped the game up with Remi’s chance, which would have made it game over.
"But Crawley are a good team and will cause teams problems with the pace and power they have, which we definitely saw.
"The character from our boys was terrific, to defend as well as we did and really stand up to take the three points."
The Bantams boss is all the more encouraged by his side’s showing when considering the amount of players currently in the treatment room.
Injuries have hit Bowyer hard recently and - after confirming Clayton Donaldson would be ruled out for at least two months - he insisted each member of his squad will play their part over the coming weeks.
The City chief added: "We now have around 10 or 11 players out injured, which is a massive blow for us.
"But this is why we worked throughout the summer and before deadline day to strengthen the squad, to prepare for situations like this.
"I have always said it is very much a team game and it is amazing how quickly things can change.
"Before the Scunthorpe game, I was having to leave four or five players out but, now, we cannot afford to drop anyone, because of the numbers we have.
"There you see the value of good recruitment through the summer and developing your own players.
"It is very encouraging to still be getting results in these circumstances and we will need players to step up even further as we progress."
