Without a win in six, Dale currently sit 11th in the league, having won only two matches - in all competitions - this season.
By contrast, tonight's visitors enjoyed a successful 2018/19 campaign, only finishing runners-up in the league to eventual runaway leaders, Wigan Athletic.
City's under-18s are in fine form at the moment and are currently unbeaten since September 28.
They have won their last two league games after a penalty shoot-out victory at Notts County in the Youth Alliance Cup.
Dale, on the other hand, are without a victory since August 26 and have lostv all but one of their previous six outings.
