Matt Palmer is facing a spell on the sidelines after sustaining a knee injury.
The on-loan midfielder suffered the setback during City’s Sky Bet League Two game against Scunthorpe United and was withdrawn during the first half.
Palmer, 24, will see a specialist later this week to discover the full extent of his injury.
City manager Gary Bowyer said: "We are gutted to lose Matty - he has played a key role for us, so far, this season.
"He was clearly struggling to continue on Saturday, so we had to bring him off - and he left the stadium wearing a brace.
"Hopefully, the specialists will be able to give us some more positive news.
"But Matty is in the best-possible hands and our medical team will work closely with him during his rehabilitation."
