The Bantams return to the Utilita Energy Stadium tomorrow, playing host to Northampton Town in Sky Bet League Two.

After a Trophy penalty-shootout success over Bolton Wanderers, on Tuesday night, Gary Bowyer’s men will be looking to kick on - in league action.

The Cobblers sit in 17th place but - after an emphatic 3-1 victory over Plymouth Argyle last weekend - the visitors will be confident heading to West Yorkshire.

We have compiled a Big Match Preview packed full of everything you need to know before the 3.00pm clash…

City: Gary Bowyer rotated his squad during midweek and is expected to return the likes of James Vaughan and Richard O’Donnell to the starting line-up.

Zeli Ismail came through Tuesday’s match unscathed while striker Shay McCartan could feature for the second time this season.

Callum Cooke is also back in the fold, along with new signings Dylan Connolly and Aramide Oteh. Jamie Devitt is likely to miss out, nursing a suspected hamstring injury.

Northampton: It is a similar situation for Northampton boss Keith Curle, who made several changes in midweek against Peterborough in the Trophy.

Andy Williams is expected to lead the line once more, whilst Sam Hoskins and Vadaine Oliver could come back into the team.

David Cornell should also come back into the fray in net.

Gary Bowyer: "They will be organised and competitive. They had a good win last week against Plymouth, which I watched, so they will be coming on the back of that with confidence.

“It is up to us to now really get going and put a stamp on our performances.”

Keith Curle: “They have got a great crowd but they are also very demanding and they will be expecting their team to be competing at the top of the division.

“We need to try and make them play how we want them to play, nullify their threat and then exploit their weaknesses.

“Bradford have done a lot of business over the summer and they will be going through some of the teething problems that we have.

“I think they have signed something like 15 new players, it’s not easy integrating that amount of players into a squad straight away, getting the best out of those players and finding a system that works.”

The Bantams last faced the Cobblers in February 2017 in a Sky Bet League One contest. City lost out at Valley Parade that day, going down 2-1 through John-Joe O’Tootle and Chris Long. Paul Taylor’s late free-kick past now Bradford keeper Richard O’Donnell proved only to be a consolation.

Leigh Doughty will referee the Bantams for the first time this season.

He will be assisted by Robert Atkin and Gary Hilton, with Anthony Moore stepping in as fourth official.
