On-loan midfielder Callum Cooke insists City cannot afford to overlook the challenge Walsall will provide tomorrow.

The Bantams travel to face the Banks’s Stadium outfit - who sit 21st in Sky Bet League Two - on Saturday, with the action getting underway from 3.00pm.

And Cooke has stressed the importance of not underestimating this weekend's opponents, despite their current league position.

The 22-year-old said: "There are no easy games in this division and Walsall will prove no different.

"It is still early days in the season but you could potentially say it is a banana skin.

"They have not had the best of starts but form goes out of the window as soon as you kick off on a Saturday.

"It is all about who wants it more, at the end of the day. Like Gary (Bowyer) keeps drilling into us, hard work beats talent.

"Even if we are not playing at our best, we need to constantly be working as hard as we can. We must keep the right mentality and play with intensity."

Having signed just over a week before the end of the transfer window, the Peterborough United loanee has confessed it initially took a while to get his fitness up to speed.

However, now with a few weeks worth of training under his belt, Cooke feels completely at home in West Yorkshire - both on and off the pitch.

He added: "Having not had a proper pre-season campaign at Peterborough, I was playing catch-up a little bit, when I first came in.

"But I feel great, now. I am fit and raring to go and, should I get the nod on Saturday, I will be ready.

"I have had a good few weeks here and am really enjoying myself.

"We have a great set of lads who have helped me settle in very well, and I love playing in front of fantastic crowds - like the ones we get - every week.

"When the supporters get behind us, there is no better feeling. They give us a real boost and are going to be massively important, this season."

PLEASE NOTE: Supporters will be able to pay on the gate tomorrow, at the Banks's Stadium.
