Connor Wood insists City's away support can spur the Bantams on to victory - in Saturday’s trip to Scunthorpe United (3.00pm).

More than 1,500 City fans are set to descend on Glanford Park, after selling out almost three ticket allocations ahead of the Sky Bet League Two clash.

And the left-back is confident the travelling band will play their part as they have already, this campaign.

Wood said: "It is a huge boost when we have 14,000-plus supporters behind us.

"Not only does it encourage us, but I feel it throws the opposition off a bit, as well.

"The connection with the supporters has been rebuilt and re-established really well, this season.

"For us, as a team, we really feel the support from the stands and it definitely gives us an edge to our game.

"You have seen so far, this season, how the supporters have acted as our 12th man and pushed us over the line, on occasions.

"We are hopeful of them being able to back us in similar fashion at Scunthorpe. With them behind us, we are confident of going there and getting three points."

Entering his second season in claret and amber - after signing from Leicester City last summer - Wood claims he now feels entirely at home in West Yorkshire.

The 23-year-old has become a regular in Gary Bowyer’s starting 11, this term, and insists he is enjoying life, both on and off the field.

The Nike Academy graduate added: "I feel very settled here, now, and am personally really enjoying this season.

"So far, it has gone extremely well, for me. I have played in different positions and become adaptable and versatile, learning different sides to my game.

"It is always difficult to come into a new environment and find your feet.

"This time, I have been able to get to grips with things from the beginning, on and off the pitch.

"Last season, I had to find my feet, at the club, and adapt to a new environment, which can sometimes be quite tricky.

"But I am playing confidently with a smile on my face and am looking forward to helping this side, in whichever way I can.

"I am really prepared to achieve something special, this season, and am raring to go on Saturday."
