McCALL DREAM TEAM UPDATE

9 April 2020

Stuart McCall has sent supporters a further message - after his City Dream Team was correctly guessed on Monday.

The lucky winner - who will receive a 2020/21 home shirt, signed and presented by the Bantams boss himself - will be revealed tomorrow.

Announced alongside the successful participant will be McCall's team in full, which includes a starting 11 and seven substitutes made up from players he shared the field with over his two spells at the Utilita Energy Stadium.

The competition's deadline had been extended to 5.00pm on Monday, after no successful submissions had been made before the initial deadline - on Friday April 3.

On the competition, the City chief said: "I hope we are all managing to stay as fit, healthy and as safe as possible through these difficult, challenging and emotional times.

"I would like to say a big thank you to all our supporters who took the time to submit an entry - in some cases two - in an attempt to match my City Dream Team.

"I am delighted to report that, since the deadline was extended, one supporter correctly named the starting line-up and six substitutes, only to be followed - half an hour later - with the exact team and all seven substitutes. They will now be crowned the champion!

"Pleasingly, and quite surprisingly, when all the votes were collected and added together, the players who received the most starting votes and those who had the most substitute votes were all in my Dream Team selection.

"Tomorrow, I will chat through the selection and name the overall winner.

"I would like to say well done to Paul Fenton, Mark Boocock, Matthew Scott, Craig Cowman and Mick Auker who, before the extended deadline, named 10 of the starting team and 16 out of the 18-man squad.

"Going one better were Peter Thackray and Sally Thackray, who both named a different 10 out of the 11, but both got 17 of the 18-man squad and came so near.

"Finally, I would like to thank many of you for your encouraging, kind and funny messages added to your e-mails.

"I have been heartened by providing you with this challenge. It has brought a little light relief and took us all back down memory lane.

"Stay safe and look after yourselves and families."

McCall's full City Dream Team and the lucky winner will be revealed - across the club's social media channels - tomorrow.
