BRING YOUR FLAGS

20 August 2020

Supporters are asked to bring flags and banners to be draped over seats at the Utilita Energy Stadium, for City’s upcoming behind-closed-doors fixtures.

The 2020/21 Sky Bet League Two season is set to get underway - with no supporters admitted - on Saturday September 12.

And, with details on when City fans will be permitted to watch live matches at the Utilita Energy Stadium still unclear, the club meanwhile plans to place flags and banners over empty seats.

A range of different signs will give Stuart McCall and his Bantams backing on matchday, filling supporters’ void inside the stadium while being beamed around the world on television.

Any flags or banners supporters would like featured at the Utilita Energy Stadium during behind-closed-doors fixtures must be delivered to the main reception on or before FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 4.

City’s director of communications and commercial, Ryan Sparks, said: “With the early stages of the 2020/21 season set to be held behind closed doors, we are doing all we can to engage with our supporters and make each matchday as interactive as possible.

“There were a number of different options explored but we feel flags, banners and pendants resonate massively with our fans, allowing a personal touch to be delivered while they are unable to attend.

“We hope that, by draping as many flags over the empty seats at the Utilita Energy Stadium as possible, our home fixtures will remain exciting despite these measures and supporters will in some way feel a part of the experience.

“With all being well, season tickets will be back on sale in the next few days and, hopefully, we will be in a position to announce further ways in which you can stay connected with your club, over the coming campaign.

PLEASE NOTE: All banners must be supplied along with a fire-safety certificate, in order to be used.
