The Bantams recorded back-to-back Sky Bet League Two victories - with a 2-1 triumph over Grimsby Town at Blundell Park.

First-half goals from Lee Novak and Levi Sutton gave City the advantage going into the half-time break, before a resilient team effort after the interval saw them come away with all three points.

After a quiet start to the game, the first chance of the game fell to the visitors in the 15th minute - as Billy Clarke found himself in space but Harry Pritchard could not convert his cross.

The Bantams opened the scoring in spectacular fashion - in the 21st minute - through top-scorer Lee Novak.

Callum Cooke found the striker in the area, before the City frontman took a touch on his chest and attempted an audacious overhead kick - which looped over James McKeown and into the far corner.

City doubled their lead just before half-time with an impressive team goal - finished by Stoon first his first goal in claret and amber.

After being found by Richard O'Donnell, Billy Clarke played a beautiful pass over the top for the midfielder - who raced on past the Grimsby defence and lobbed over the goalkeeper from outside the area.

At the other side of the half-time break, the hosts pulled a goal back through for Harry Clifton, who calmly slotted past Richard O’Donnell from a corner.

The Bantams had another good opportunity to score in the 66th minute, as Billy Clarke hit a long ball over the home defence which found Harry Pritchard.

The midfielder held the ball up before teeing off to Callum Cooke, whose first-time effort was directed just wide of the post.

City had one final, golden opportunity to finish the encounter in the closing stages, through Cooke.

Substitute Kurtis Guthrie beat two defenders brilliantly before swinging a cross to the far post, though Cooke's effort was stopped at close range by James McKeown.

The Bantams held onto their lead in the second half to bag two victories in a row and move up to 18th in Sky Bet League Two.
