The Bantams were held to a goalless draw by Port Vale at the Utilita Energy Stadium - in Sky Bet League Two.
Mark Trueman and Conor Sellars’ side were restricted by the Valiants in a hard-fought encounter, as they extended their unbeaten run to five games.
The first meaningful attack of the game fell to the hosts in the 21st minute, as Billy Clarke and Harry Pritchard combined well in the opposition half.
The ball fell to Lee Novak in the box - who took one touch too many before a defender cleared.
From the resulting corner, Elliot Watt whipped in a ball from the right-hand side which fell across the face of the goalmouth - but a City attacker could not find the finishing touch.
City continued on the front foot, as Novak squared towards Callum Cooke at the edge of the box. The Irishman flashed a shot towards goal, forcing Vale stopper Brown into an acrobatic save.
Man of the match in the Bantams’ last game, Levi Sutton continued his positive form in the City midfield.
In the 35th minute, he carried the ball into the opposition half - beating a number of defenders - and played through Lee Novak, whose low shot was blocked inside the box.
After the half-time break, Finn Cousin-Dawson had a shot from inside the box blocked after being teed up by Elliot Watt.
Soon after, David Amoo forced league-debutant Sam Hornby into a good save - with a powerful effort from 30 yards.
Callum Cooke tested the hands of the goalkeeper in the final 10 minutes, with a 25-yard attempt in the bottom-right hand corner.
Goalkeeper Scott Brown was forced into a superb reaction save, as Gareth Evans shot towards goal after a ricochet in the box - as City piled on the late pressure.
