BIG MATCH PREVIEW: CRAWLEY TOWN v CITY

The Bantams travel to The People’s Pension Stadium on Tuesday evening (7.45pm) - taking on Crawley Town.

Mark Trueman will take temporary charge of City, following Stuart McCall and Kenny Black’s departure from the club on Sunday.

The Red Devils currently sit in 13th position, having won six, drawn five and lost six. This will be the first time they have welcomed 2,000 fans into the stadium since March, after a successful trial match against Barrow last weekend.

TEAM NEWS

City: Lee Novak is expected to be involved again after making his first appearance back from injury in Saturday’s defeat to Oldham Athletic.

Bryce Hosannah has been ruled out having limped off with a hamstring injury at Boundary Park. The young full-back will have a scan tomorrow. 

Billy Clarke, Gareth Evans and Kurtis Guthrie all remain sidelined. 

WHAT THE MANAGERS SAID

Mark Trueman (caretaker manager): "It is about trying to get the best out of these players and motivate them as much as possible to try and perform tomorrow night. 

"We are not in a good position at all, but all my focus can be is on going down to Crawley and trying to get a result.

"We want to be competitive and have to show the desire to compete. I want to see exactly what the supporters want to see from the players."

LAST TIME OUT

The Bantams' eight-game unbeaten run came to an end against Crawley Town as Ollie Palmer’s first-half goals were enough to see John Yems’ side claim all three points at The People’s Pension Stadium.

MATCH OFFICIALS

Sam Purkiss has taken charge of 14 matches this season, including five in Sky Bet League One and four in Sky Bet League Two. He has given out 35 yellow cards, three red cards and seven penalties.

Tuesday evening’s referee made the step up to the EFL from the National League at the start of the 2019/20 season and has taken charge of two City matches since. 

Purkiss will be assisted by Dean Treleaven and Christopher Wade, with Andy Bennett as fourth official.
