Stuart McCall insists the Bantams must build upon a positive midweek performance - ahead of Saturday's visit of Carlisle United.
City narrowly lost out 2-1 at home to high-flying Cheltenham Town on Tuesday evening, having taken the lead through Clayton Donaldson.
McCall has called for more positivity from his side, and knows they must follow their showing against the Robins up with another strong performance at the Utilita Energy Stadium - in order to get a result.
He said: “I have watched the Cheltenham game a couple more times again, and we were the better team in the first half.
“Cheltenham are a good, strong team who were in good form and we were disappointed to come away with a defeat.
“It is now about consistency and building upon the positives.
“So far, when we have put in good performances, we have followed them up with poor performances - and we need everyone to be at their best more often.
“We can take confidence from Tuesday’s performance - but need to make sure we back it up well.”
McCall has pulled no punches with regards to City’s current league position, and is determined to see another committed effort from his players in order to turn the tide.
The Bantams boss wants to see a positive mentality from his side in a bid to return to winning ways.
The former Scotland midfielder added: “We have got to scrap and fight for every ball, tackle and point.
“We know we need to tart picking up points but where we are at this moment in time can not impact our confidence or how we go about our business. Whatever it takes, we will get there.
“It is a concerning position, but the season does not finish on Saturday and we will be a lot stronger over the coming weeks.
“We will have more players back and, hopefully, you will be able to tell in our performances.
“I always want a positive vibe, mentality and mood around the training ground.
“We cannot change what has gone and how unfortunate we might have been, and just have to go full steam ahead again on Saturday.
“Once you get a good result, the confidence grows. We have to go out there and play in a positive manner like we always try to do.
“To have that confidence, we need to perform well, and we have another good opportunity to do that at home.”
