Assistant caretaker manager Conor Sellars insists he and Mark Trueman are doing all they can to prepare the Bantams for upcoming fixtures - ahead of tomorrow’s meeting with Cambridge United.

The U’s visit the Utilita Energy Stadium to take on a City outfit awaiting the arrival of a permanent manager, after the club parted company with Stuart McCall and Kenny Black on Sunday.

Sellars’ sole focus, however, lies with ensuring the side are ready for the fixtures they have coming up - regardless of who will be in charge - ahead of tomorrow’s encounter.

He said: “We have tried to bring in positivity and pull the boys back up, to create an environment for them to do all they can to turn the situation around.

“We have just got to prepare for any other game. We try to do our homework as much as possible, for any game, and give the players that clarity on their roles and responsibilities.

“The communication and mental side is important, in terms of the support we give them and keeping everything organised.

“The positivity around the place is good. We have just got to prepare for the next game and do all we can to support while we are here - and until a new manager comes in.”

Having been impressed and encouraged by a determined performance at Crawley Town on Tuesday night, Sellars is eager to see how City look to continue building.

Despite Cambridge’s strong start to the campaign, he is adamant the Bantams are entering the contest with only victory on their minds.

Sellars added: “We were really happy with the desire, hunger and fight on Tuesday. It was great for us to see the players looking like they enjoyed themselves.

“Their reactions were encouraging, because they looked together and pleased with the evening’s work.

“We are looking forward to seeing how we get on against Cambridge, in what will be another test and challenging match.

“We have got to manage the game as it goes, but we go into absolutely every fixture looking for a victory.”
