City fell to defeat on the road - losing out 2-1 at Newport County.
Two goals in the first half saw Stuart McCall's side - who had initially taken the lead through Clayton Donaldson - leave empty-handed.
After a feisty and competitive opening, it was City who struck first, just before the half-hour mark.
Connor Wood’s ball in from the left was met by the head of the returning Donaldson who guided into the far corner.
It took the hosts just two minutes to respond, though, when Ryan Inniss - who had earlier gone close - beat Richard O’Donnell with a close-range header.
Five minutes later, and the Exiles had turned the tie on its head - through Scot Bennett.
After a partially-cleared corner fell to the feet of the defender, he lashed into the back of the Bantams net from the edge of the area.
McCall’s men responded well after the interval and began the second period on the front foot, with Jake Reeves’ deflected effort striking the crossbar not long after the restart.
Despite pushing hard for an equaliser in the closing stages, the visitors were unable to penetrate Newport's backline and the score remained.
