Kenny Black is looking for improvements from his and Stuart McCall’s City side - ahead of tomorrow’s visit of Plymouth Argyle.

The Bantams enter the fixture on the back of consecutive defeats, though will be bouyed at having picked up three points in their previous home outing.

City’s assistant manager has insisted the players need to be better against the Pilgrims, after the disappointment of recent encounters.

Black said: “We have been relaying the recent disappointment to the players and have to be much better, which we are well-aware of.

“In the four games we have played, we have taken just one point after taking the lead first.

“It is something we need to be conscious of and we need to be stronger when going in front, to be able to take three points.

“These things have to be put in the players’ minds before the game.

“If we are able to tidy stuff like this up then it obviously gives us a much bigger chance of being able to win games.”

Having returned to the club alongside McCall this month, Black admitted he is enjoying his time back in West Yorkshire.

The former Airdrieonians midfielder is looking forward to walking out in front of what he hopes will be another raucous atmosphere at the Utilita Energy Stadium again - tomorrow.

He added: “Being back has been brilliant and I was absolutely delighted when the opportunity came around to return.

“I have always referred to Bradford City as a ‘proper football club’ so I completely echo Stuart’s sentiments in being here again.

“After things like the Wembley final and the situation off the field in our last spell, we were given a great opportunity to come back here and hopefully achieve success.

“We are all really looking forward to be back playing at home, this weekend. It is always a great atmosphere with the fantastic supporters we have.

“They are fantastic and very important to us. I am sure they will get behind us as they always do - even on the back of two defeats.”
