BIG MATCH PREVIEW: MANSFIELD v CITY

24 January 2020

The Bantams contest their second-consecutive away game tomorrow, travelling to Mansfield Town.

Gary Bowyer's side are unbeaten in their last two, though will be looking to return to winning ways in the 3.00pm clash.

The Stags have endured a difficult campaign thus far and are currently sat in 20th place in the Sky Bet League Two table, five points above the relagation zone.

Graham Coughlan's men will be hoping for a revival in the latter stages of the season, following a fourth-place finish last term.

We have compiled a Big Match Preview full of in-depth pre-match analysis - ahead of the encounter.

TEAM NEWS

City: Harry Pritchard could be in line to start after making his return from injury from the bench in Tuesday's draw at Colchester United.

James Vaughan will again be unavailable for the Bantams as he serves the second of his two-match suspension at the One Call Stadium.

Fit-again Jamie Devitt could be pushing for a start in Nottinghamshire, while Clayton Donaldson is nearing his return from injury.

Mansfield: New signing Harry Charsley could be in line to make his full debut for the Stags, having penned a deal from Everton last week and featured from the bench in Mansfield's loss at Plymouth Argyle.

Will Tomlinson is unlikely to feature having suffered another setback against Forest Green Rovers two weeks ago.

Ryan Sweeney and fit-again skipper Krystian Pearce are likely to start, though Kellan Gordon should miss out once more.

WHAT THE MANAGERS SAID

Gary Bowyer: "They played a different system in their last game against to the one they did against us, last time.

"They have some dangerous players who can hurt you and we expect a much different challenge, on Saturday.

"Graham Coughlan will have had an opportunity to work with his players more since coming in and form a system a bit more."

Graham Coughlan: "Let us be honest, we have been playing really, really well.

"We have been creating and are a joy to watch at times, offensively. But, I would settle for an ugly 1-0 win on Saturday.

"I would take any type of win, to be honest, but if we could stick a clean sheet in there as well that would maybe give us a foundation to build upon."

LAST TIME OUT

The return fixture, saw the Bantams make in six matches unbeaten with a 2-0 victory at the Utilita Energy Stadium, just after Christmas.

A penalty in each half from skipper James Vaughan was enough to seal the points for Gary Bowyer's men.
