BIG MATCH PREVIEW: OLDHAM v CITY

31 January 2020

The Bantams are set for another away encounter tomorrow, making the short trip to Oldham Athletic.

City will be looking to return to winning ways in the 3.00pm encounter and build on a hard-fought midweek poing against Cheltenham Town.

The Latics have endured a difficult season thus far and are currently placed 17th in the Sky Bet League Two table.

The Boundary Park outfit will be hoping to build on a 14th-place finish in the fourth tier last term.

We have compiled a Big Match Preview packed full of everything you need to know...

TEAM NEWS

City: Gary Bowyer will be without James Vaughan who joined Tranmere Rovers on loan for the remainder of the season - earlier this week.

Therefore, Clayton Donaldson could again be in line to start for the Bantams, with Aramide Oteh or Shay McCartan likely to partner him.

Bowyer will also not be able to call upon Jamie Devitt, who serves his one match suspension having been dismissed against Cheltenham Town.

Oldham: Oldham will be without experienced midfielder David Jones after his short-term contract in Lancashire expired yesterday.

Manchester United loanee Cameron Borthwick-Jackson could keep his place in defence after making his debut in Tuesday's victory over Mansfield Town.

WHAT THE MANAGERS SAID

Gary Bowyer: "I watched Oldham at close quarters in their game against Mansfield, on Tuesday.

"They have picked up on their form at home and will provide a big cahellenge.

"They are a good side with some good players who can hurt you, out of nothing."

Dino Maamria: "Bradford are a good team, of course. They are in the play-off positions for a reason.

"My challenge to the players this week has been to go out there and post a big win against a top-seven side.

"It is a local derby, there is a lot at stake, and a victory would give us a big boost at the start of another busy month."

LAST TIME OUT

City's last meeting with the Latics came on matchday three of the 2019/20 campaign.

Following a dominant performance, the Bantams recorded their first victory of the season with an emphatic 3-0 triumph.
