BOWYER HOPES TO CONTINUE BUILDING AT CRAWLEY

Gary Bowyer has called for his players to continue building momentum and extending their unbeaten run - ahead of tomorrow's meeting with Crawley Town (3.00pm).

The Bantams visit the People’s Pension Stadium on the back of eight games unbeaten, having battled for a late point at league leaders Swindon Town, last week.

Bowyer insists his players must ensure their confidence levels remain high in a bid to carrying on with the same habits they have recently demonstrated.

The City chief said: “We enjoyed a good return from the festive period and are still unbeaten in eight matches.

“It is important for us now to keep building the momentum we formed and keep this run going, beginning at Crawley.

“They have a good squad and a new manager in John Yems who has gone there and really put his stamp on them.

“We are looking to build on last week’s performance because we know, especially in the second half, we created a lot of chances and had lots of the possession.

“We want to continue that and just need to make sure we keep up the good habits.”

Having had a full week to prepare for the trip south, Bowyer believes his side have recovered well from their last outing and are ready to face the Red Devils.

With City now out of a hectic festive schedule, the Bantams boss is looking forward to regaining more rhythm over the coming weeks and months.

He added: "It has been good to be able to give the lads a breather - after the amount of football we played over the festive period.

"We are unfortunately unable to carry the same size of a squad as the Premier League teams, so it is quite harsh.

"But, we are happy to have got the players going on the grass again and had a full week’s worth of training and preparation behind them.

"Hopefully, after the rest and recovery we had at the start of the week and the preparation we have had over the past few days, we will be in good shape, heading to Crawley."
