Dylan Connolly insists the Bantams must remain positive and confident, ahead of Saturday’s trip to Crawley Town (3.00pm).

City head to the People’s Pension Stadium looking to record their ninth game unbeaten - on the back of a 1-1 draw at table-topping Swindon Town last week.

Connolly - who has been deployed in a slightly more advanced role of late - remains positive in all situations and hopes he and his team-mates will be able to record another important three points.

He said: “I have enjoyed playing in my new role.

“It is obviously slightly unfamiliar to me but I always try my hardest and give 100 per-cent - wherever I am playing.

“As soon as I step on the pitch I enjoy myself. I try to get on with my job and do not let external factors - which may play a part play on my mind - affect me.

“Over the past few weeks, we have had to battle in difficult circumstances. But, the challenge is something I try to embrace and enjoy - to remain positive.”

A popular figure with the Bantams faithful, the winger is hopeful City’s supporters can play another important role when descending upon West Sussex.

Connolly maintains a close personal relationship with the supporters and spoke of the importance of this - on the pitch.

The AFC Wimbledon loanee added: “Me and the fans bounce off each other, which is good.

“They get us going when times are tough and it is great to have them by our side.

“They really do drive us on - on the pitch - and I really enjoy it.

“I cannot really hold back when I get in front of our supporters. I find it hard to contain my emotion.

“I feel it shows my passion, desire and will to win. Thankfully, I feel the fans understand that.”
