SUTTON BECOMES FIRST SUMMER SIGNING

11 July 2020

City have begun their summer recruitment drive with the signing of highly-rated Levi Sutton, who has put pen to paper on a two-year deal.

The former Scunthorpe United man can operate in both midfield and defence and his arrival sees him reunited with Stuart McCall and Kenny Black.

A product of the Iron’s academy, the 23-year-old made his senior debut in March 2016 and went on to make over 50 appearances for the Lincolnshire outfit.

The utility talent cannot wait to link up with his new team-mates and get started in claret and amber.

Sutton said: “I am delighted to be here. I am looking forward to hopefully being a part of a successful team, which I feel we will be.

“This is a massive club which should not be in League Two.

“I will give 110% while here and cannot wait to hopefully be playing soon, in front of all our supporters.”

Bantams boss McCall added: “I worked with Levi at Scunthorpe and was really surprised when I saw he had been released. I know they had made him an offer, prior to COVID-19.

“He is a whole-hearted and totally committed lad with a real desire to be a footballer, which we want.

“There is a little edge to him and I know he will give everything he has got, as well as being able to play in a number of positions.”

Sutton’s signing is subject to the relevant EFL and FA clearances.
