BANTAMS LOSE OUT AT SALFORD

7 March 2020

Stuart McCall’s Bantams proved unable to record consecutive victories, falling to a 2-0 defeat at Salford City.

Despite a late second-half push from City, two goals from Ash Hunter secured all three points for the Ammies.

The home side took the lead early on - through a Hunter long shot.

The attacker worked space outside the box before unleashing an effort into the top corner with 10 minutes on the clock.

The away side tried to salvage an equaliser before half-time - courtesy of Jake Reeves, however the midfielder could not connect cleanly as the ball spirrialled wide.

After the restart, Graham Alexander’s side made it two - through Hunter once more.

The No.45 found himself free outside the area before slotting the ball home - on the 47th-minute mark.

The Bantams tried to conjure chances late on - courtesy of Glenn Middleton and Reeves - but could not breach Salford’s defence as the referee blew for full-time.
