ONES TO WATCH

James Wilson

Manchester United academy graduate James Wilson joined the Ammies permanently in January from Aberdeen - and has so far made 18 appearances for the club, contributing to nine goals.

The striker featured 20 times for Manchester United between 2014 and 2019 - and has been capped six times for England at youth level.

Ashley Hunter

25-year-old winger Ashley Hunter joined the Ammies from Fleetwood Town in July, penning a two-year deal with the club.

Hunter has featured 15 times for Salford City in the 2020/21 campaign - scoring four times and registering four assists.

George Boyd 

Boyd has racked up over 550 appearances across his 14-year professional career - for clubs such as Burnley, Peterborough United, Hull City, Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest. 

The 35-year-old signed for the Ammies at the start of November, and has featured four times for the club - picking up one assist.

THE MANAGER

Richie Wellens was appointed as Salford boss on November 4 - taking over from former manager Graham Alexander who achieved promotion with the club from the National League.

Wellens was formerly manager of Swindon Town - where he gained promotion from Sky Bet League Two last season.

THE CAPTAIN

Ashley Eastham was appointed as Salford City captain on September 4 - having initially joined the club in January from Fleetwood Town.

The defender has enjoyed previous permanent stints with Blackpool, Rochdale and Fleetwood Town - where he has racked up a total of 364 appearances.

LAST TIME OUT

The Ammies fell to a 2-0 defeat to Bolton Wanderers last weekend at the University of Bolton Stadium.
