Levi Sutton hopes he and his team-mates can begin picking up momentum again as they approach another busy run of fixtures, ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Salford City (3.00pm).
The Bantams travel to the Peninsula Stadium on the back of a week without an evening fixture, before another hectic run of matches.
Sutton, who will return from a three-match suspension to feature in Lancashire, insists both he and City must ensure they prepare for the upcoming run in the best-possible state.
He said: “We know Salford will give us a difficult game. They are a good side, have some good players and have obviously just recently changed manager.
“It is the start of another busy run of fixtures and gives us an opportunity to pick up a positive result.
“It also gives me a chance to get the games in again and get my match fitness back up.
“It has been frustrating for me so far this season with the stopping and starting, and I am probably lacking a bit of match fitness because of that.
“I am physically fit but am looking forward to getting another run of games in and getting ready again. As a team, we need to start this busy period as well as we can.”
Sutton also spoke about his desire to redeem himself and start his season somewhat afresh, after being dismissed in last month’s defeat at Barrow.
The 22-year-old is aware of the opportunity he has to cement his place in City’s side, and is looking forward to once again earning the respect of everyone at the club.
The former Scunthorpe United midfielder added: “My difficult start to the season is mainly down to myself, and it is up to me to kick on and pick up again.
“I was absolutely gutted when I got sent off and knew I had let a lot of people down.
“I have never felt like that in football before and it was a stupid thing to do. I have to make sure I kick on now and leave it in the past.
“I am fully-hearted in everything I do and I do not think I would be half the player I am if I was not like that. I am still young and learning a lot of the time and, showed a lot of naivety in the Barrow.
“I am looking forward to getting going and playing again and can hopefully get into the swing of playing football again.”
