Bradford City is delighted to announce the signing of exciting striker Austin Samuels on a season-long loan.
The 19-year-old arrives from Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers - who he first signed for at the age of eight - to become Stuart McCall’s latest summer recruit.
Samuels scored for Wolves Under-21s against the Bantams in EFL Trophy action on Tuesday evening, as James Collins’ side left the Utilita Energy Stadium with two points in Northern Group F.
The former England Under-16 international has bagged two goals in four appearances for the young Wanderers this season, following a loan spell at Kidderminster Harriers last term.
Samuels said: "It feels great to be here and I cannot wait to get started. I am looking forward to getting out there and showing our supporters what I can do.
"I am a fast player who likes to get in behind and stretch the backline, and feel like I have good finishing ability.
"After playing against Bradford City earlier in the week it made me even more eager to come here. They have a great system in place which I am excited to be a part of."
City manager McCall said: "We are delighted to have Austin here and cannot wait to have him properly bedded in.
"I had done a lot of research on him before we played Wolves Under-21s in the EFL Trophy and he had impressed me then, with the way he handled himself in games.
"He has pace, is great at getting in behind and down the sides of defenders and has terrific movement - which is exactly what we were looking for.
"The Wolves staff said he has improved drastically over the past six months and everyone I have spoken to about him has said extremely positive things."
Samuels’ signing is subject to the relevant FA, EFL and Premier League clearances.
The frontman is in line to make his Bantams debut when McCall’s men entertain Harrogate Town - in front of the Sky Sports cameras - on Monday evening (7.45pm).
He will wear the No.14 shirt in claret and amber and is available to sponsor. To sponsor Austin Samuels, please e-mail commercial@bradfordcityfc.co.uk.
