Bradford City can confirm the departure of striker Danny Rowe, who has signed for National League side Chesterfield for an undisclosed fee.

The 32-year-old arrived at the Utilita Energy Stadium from Oldham Athletic in January and made 18 appearances in claret and amber, scoring five times.

Bantams boss Mark Trueman said: “I spoke with Danny and assured him he was still very much part of our plans, but Chesterfield approached us and he expressed a desire to leave the club.

“We felt, at this point, it would be wrong to stand in Danny’s way - should he not want to be here - and have already identified a number of exciting attacking players we would like to bring in over the summer.

“We thank him for his contribution as a Bradford City player, and he leaves with our best wishes for the future.”

Bradford City AFC would like to take this opportunity to thank Rowe for his services at the club, and wish him the best for the future.
